Testing was undertaken at 5 Glaslough Street, Monaghan, where the existing building was to be demolished and replaced with a three-storey mixed commercial/residential structure. The area of development is within the zone of archaeological potential for Monaghan.

Testing consisted of the excavation of three trenches within the boundaries of the site. A c. 0.3m layer of rubble was uncovered lying on the 'natural' subsoil. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered.
