Two 19th-century buildings were demolished on this site. Testing in 2003 (Excavations 2003, No. 1472) produced evidence for dumping of stone in the north-east corner of the site and underneath the boundary wall along the east side of the site. This appeared to have taken place in the post-medieval period.
Monitoring of excavation of the foundation trenches for a restaurant and residential development was carried out in April 2004. This yielded further evidence that much disturbance had taken place here, possibly during the construction of the boundary wall, as mentioned above.
