A testing was carried out as a pre-planning exercise for the proposed construction of a dwelling at Skreen, Co. Meath. Four trenches were excavated using a mechanical excavator. Despite being located close to the remains of Skreen church, no features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified. A single sherd of Leinster ware and a fragment of clay pipe were retrieved from high up in the topsoil. The topsoil was found to have a great depth across the majority of the site and directly overlay degraded bedrock. Two levels of natural terracing were found across the site.
