Testing took place on 9 October 2004 prior to the proposed demolition of existing buildings and the development of townhouses, apartments, services and underground parking at Maudlins Street, Kells, Co. Meath. The site is in an area of archaeological potential, SMR 17:44. Testing was carried out using a mini-digger with a flat (toothless) bucket. Seven test-trenches were dug. Articulated animal bone, modern china, glass, plastic and wall tile was recovered. No features of archaeological significance were identified.
