Pre-development testing took place off Main Street in Dunshaughlin just west-south-west of an early ecclesiastical settlement (St Seachnaill, SMR 44:3). Previous excavations to the east of St Seachnaill's revealed a ditched enclosure that appears to be the original early medieval boundary. The possible remains of this enclosure were uncovered in the north-east section of the site close to Main Street opposite St Seachnaill's Church. However, standing remains of modern buildings prevented further elaboration of this feature. The rest of the site was totally sterile of any archaeological remains.
