Excavation at Site 26 was carried out in advance of the N2 Finglas-Ashbourne road scheme on behalf of Meath County Council (Appendix II). The test excavation was carried out to investigate possible archaeological features identified in the geophysical survey carried out by GSB in 2002. Exposed by David Bonner within Testing Area 26 in August 2003 were a series of six isolated groups of features stretched over a 250m length of the road-take in two separate fields. Topsoil-stripping of six areas of Test Area 26 was carried out on 16 and 18 March. No features of archaeological significance were encountered.
