It was proposed to erect a dwelling house along with access driveway, garage, septic tank and percolation area within the same field as a cashel and souterrain. The nearest part of the development to the monument would be the driveway, at a distance of 25m to the south-east. Twelve trenches were opened in all areas to be disturbed.
Nothing of archaeological significance was noted in any of the trenches. All finds were modern. There was a considerable amount of loose limestone just below the topsoil and either in or slightly above the boulder clay (grey gravel or sandy marl).
