Testing was carried out at Breaghwy, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, on 18 December 2004. The proposed development involves the construction of a dwelling house, garage, proprietary effluent treatment unit, septic tank and percolation area. It is located c. 80m north-east of SMR 79:32, a chapel.
Three trenches were opened based on the footprint of the proposed dwelling and the associated septic tank and percolation area. Throughout the site a uniform stratigraphy with no visible archaeological remains or materials was noted.
