Eleven trenches were cut (pre-planning) in the eastern half of a field that contains a stone row of granite boulders and pillars forming two parallel lines (SMR 85:27). Some granite rock turned up in three locations in testing but when explored turned out to be natural outcrop. Water-rounded pebbles were found randomly around the base of one outcrop block, but no features were identified. No artefacts were found in this part of the field, which is located 60–70m to the east of the stone row.
