The site for a single house was near an enclosure site (SMR 6:51(01)) in Killycroney townland and a souterrain (SMR 6:50) in adjoining Crossabeagh townland. The souterrain was published by John P. Clarke in the County Louth Archaeological Journal at the time of its discovery in 1963 and was destroyed during a land reclamation scheme in the 1970s. Its former site is c. 120m west of the development site; the enclosure site, known from a cropmark on an aerial photograph, is c. 80m east of the development site. Monitoring of groundworks for the house revealed no indication of previous disturbance on the site.
