This site was identified during monitoring for the M1, Dundalk western bypass (04E0335). The area surrounding the site was undulating pastureland. The site consisted of eight circular and subcircular pits located within an area 12m by 7m. The pits revealed small quantities of cremated bone and charcoal. Fragments of coarse, decorated prehistoric pottery were also found deposited in two of the pits. This site appears to have been a Bronze Age flat cemetery.
