Testing was carried out in advance of a single-house development. The site is within the zone of archaeological potential for a megalithic structure. This appears to have originated as an antiquarian reference, which is now classed as 'doubtful' in the files held by the Archaeological Survey of Ireland. The site is also on the immediate western side of the zone of archaeological potential for a standing stone. Seven trenches were excavated, all measuring 20m in length by 1.5m wide. A number of pit features were recorded, as well as a series of linear features.
