Thirty test-trenches were excavated in the vicinity of a medieval church and graveyard at Glebe, Monagea. A number of ditches and gullies were discovered, some of which were fairly substantial. It is likely that the features represent part of a medieval field system and possibly the line of the old road to the church. A small assemblage of animal bone was recovered, along with an iron billhook and a fragment of slag, indicating both domestic and small-scale industrial activity. A possible cremation burial was also investigated. Full excavation is anticipated prior to development of the site.
