Testing and an impact statement were carried out in advance of the construction of dwelling houses and associated works. The development was located within the zone of archaeological potential for the historic town of Askeaton. Four trenches were opened across the site, 10–28m in length and 1.5m wide. The foundations of modern, recently demolished buildings were recorded in a number of the trenches. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted during the testing.
