The proposed development is on the southern outskirts of Leitrim village. The first phase will consist of 32 houses, accesses, services and six serviced sites. The site is near two ringforts. A 20m buffer zone will be maintained around the closest ringfort. The entire area was extensively tested in March 2004. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
