An impact assessment was undertaken in advance of the construction of a private dwelling in a greenfield site located to the north-east of Dowra village, Co. Leitrim. The four machine-excavated trenches revealed that the thin peaty topsoil came down directly onto either a yellow grey glacial till or shattered bedrock. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered.
