The proposed development at Cannaboe will involve the construction of 31 detached houses, access and related services. Within the site is a ringfort, protected by a 20m buffer zone. All topsoil removal associated with the development was carried out under supervision in December 2004. A curvilinear ditch and a number of small cut features were identified in the northern portion of the site. The cut features are irregular in shape and appear to contain charcoal-enriched soil. The curvilinear ditch may be related to modern drainage. These features await further assessment and excavation. No other archaeological features or finds were revealed.
