The proposed development at Ballinwing will consist of a single house, access and septic tank/percolation areas. The site is near a ring-barrow located to the north-east of the site in the adjacent field. Five test-trenches, measuring 10m by 1.5m, were excavated by machine in September 2004. They were excavated to a depth of 0.3-0.35m, to below the level of natural subsoil. No archaeological features or material were identified.
