Monitoring was carried out at Attirory, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim, on 21 and 24 May 2004. The site comprises two fields of rough pasture to the south of Carrick-on-Shannon and to the east of the River Shannon. The proposed development is for 38 houses and associated services. Following a programme of testing carried out by Tom Rogers (No. 947, Excavations 2004), it was recommended that all topsoil-stripping be monitored due to the proximity of SMR 31:39. Nothing of archaeological significance was discovered during this programme of work.
