Underwater assessment was carried out at King's River, Lawcus/Ennisnag, Co. Kilkenny, on 21 December 2004 in relation to the construction of a gas pipeline from Baunlusk, Co. Kilkenny, to Belview, Co. Waterford, by An Bord Gáis. The area under assessment comprised a 100m stretch of the King's River. Throughout this area, a clay-banked, stone, gravel and sand riverbed was noted. Three small islands were noted on the northern side of the river contained within the survey area. None were of archaeological significance. A number of ferrous or non-ferrous materials were contained within the riverbed, but none were identified as archaeological. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during the assessment.
