An assessment of a proposed single-house development was requested. This comprised a desktop study of the surrounds of the site and the excavation of three test-trenches within the proposed development area. The medieval church and village of Ballycallan lie 300m to the west and a rectangular enclosure is situated immediately beside the proposed site. Testing failed to uncover anything of archaeological interest and the enclosure may instead be interpreted as an agricultural feature of relatively modern age.
