Bulge Bog is located in Co. Kildare, immediately south-east of Glashabaun South Bog and south-west of Lullybeg dry land island. It was accessed at its north-east from Lullybeg Bog and at the south-west from the small unclassified road known locally as the 'German's road'. Bulge Bog covers an area of 185ha and is part of the Bord na Móna Derrygreenagh group of bogs. Bulge Bog was originally milled to supply peat to the Lullymore briquette factory. It is now in milled peat east-west with several overgrown drains in the centre of this production area. No archaeological sites were identified during the survey of this bog.
