Testing was undertaken on a greenfield site adjacent to the M7 and fronting the Naas-Newbridge road (R445). Eight trenches were excavated. As the field had been ploughed in recent years the topsoil was disturbed to a depth of 0.25m. It was apparent that, while the composition of the north and south of the site were similar, in the central area the subsoil was more compacted, consequently the drainage of topsoil was poor, resulting in a grey colour. No archaeological features were uncovered in the course of the testing; the only find was a sherd of red earthenware, probably a 19th-century storage jar.
