Testing was carried out on 18 August 2004 on a greenfield site in advance of the construction of a house at Inch, Lewistown. The development is beside Inch Castle and a 'Mound' (SMR 35:27). Four trenches were opened using a track machine with a 1m-wide flat toothless bucket. Nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered.
