Monitoring of topsoil-stripping on a housing development site at Abbeylands was carried out intermittently over a six-and-a-half-day period between 18 October and 28 November 2004 following transfer of the licence from Matthew Seaver and Colum Hardy. No material or features of archaeological interest came to light, other than a worked granite stone of architectural interest bearing a light groove on the upper surface and also on one side; the under surface is uneven and fractured. The stone measures 0.27m by 0.34m by 0.18m thick. It may originally have been associated with nearby Clane Abbey.
