Planning permission was granted by Kildare County Council to demolish a stone outbuilding and to build a one-and-a-half-storey office building with associated services. The planning permission required an archaeological assessment of the site prior to development.

The development site lies within the zone of archaeological potential for Celbridge (SMR 11:12) at its easternmost limit, although no specific monuments are marked for this part of the town. The development site is situated close to the east end of the bridge over the River Liffey, on the opposite side of the river from the town.

A two-storey structure, possibly of 19th-century date, stood at right angles to the Hazelhatch road, with its gable wall fronting on the road. This was subject to an architectural inspection. Four trenches tested the site, two each on either side of the existing outbuilding. Archaeological material was not exposed.
