A development of 80 residential units and associated site works is planned for the townland of Croogorts in the north-western suburbs of Tralee town. Phase 1 has been tested, with the commencement of the second phase due in 2005/6. Five test-trenches were excavated by machine across the proposed foundations for the houses and the access road. The lower section of the site was found to have been backfilled with builders' rubble in recent years, while bedrock was exposed under the sod layer across the site. No archaeological deposits were recorded.
