Testing was undertaken as part of a planning application. The proposed house was located within the zone of archaeological potential surrounding a ringfort. Three test-trenches totalling 68m in length were excavated. The topsoil was grey-brown silty clay with an average depth of 0.28m. The subsoil was orange/grey silty clay. No features of archaeological significance were identified.
