Monitoring of ground disturbance was undertaken at the site of a windfarm in the townland of Coom, on the northern face of Mount Eagle. The excavation of eight foundation pads and an extension to the existing forest roadway was monitored. The roadway was widened by an average of 2m and extended by c. 400m. Each turbine pad encompassed an area of c. 20m2. The material removed was composed entirely of peat and measured a maximum depth of 3m. The subsoil consisted of marl. No evidence of archaeology was encountered.
