An assessment by means of test-trenching was conducted at the location of two external escape staircases and enclosures, along with an external storage facility, within the grounds of the Presentation Convent in Tuam on 30 August 2004. The site is within the zone of archaeological potential of Tuam town (SMR 29:99). Six trenches were excavated. No archaeological features were discovered during the assessment.
