The site was situated within the zone of archaeological potential for Swords village. A single test-trench was excavated in March 2004 using a mechanical excavator with a toothless bucket along the length of the site, oriented north-west/south-east. The assessment revealed no features of archaeological importance. It would seem that at some point, probably during the last development of the site, the entire area was reduced to a level either on or just above the bedrock. The terraced nature of the ground between the properties fronting on to Main Street and the carpark behind these properties seems to support this view.
