Monitoring of the digging of the foundations of a proposed house extension using a mini-digger was carried out at 6 Brackenstown Road, Swords, Co. Dublin, between 3 and 6 October 2004. The site is in the area of archaeological potential for SMR 11:34. Three trenches were dug. Animal bone and two fragments of floor tile were recovered from the interface of the topsoil and the natural subsoil in Trench 1. Animal bone was also recovered from Trench 3. No features of archaeological significance were identified.
