The entire route of the proposed Oldcourt Road/Stocking Lane link road in the townlands of Oldcourt, Ballycullen, Woodtown and Newtown in South County Dublin was assessed through the archaeologically controlled removal of topsoil along the entire width and length of the proposed link road.

Seven areas of interest were resolved. Archaeological features encountered have been provisionally interpreted as elements of truncated fulacht fiadh activity, a pit furnace and two possible medieval ditches.

The central portion of the proposed link road was previously resolved by Ellinor Larsson (Excavations 2002, No. 639, 02E0190) within the archaeological mitigation programme for a residential development on the Ballycullen Road.
