Testing of the proposed development site was carried out on 30 June 2004 using a track machine with a 1mwide flat toothless bucket. The proposed development is located on the edge of the zone of archaeological potential of a possible dwelling site and to the east of the early medieval ecclesiastical settlement at Finglas. The site is currently waste ground with large amounts of building debris, burnt wood, beer cans and bottles and general refuse. Six trenches were opened throughout the site. Nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered.
