An assessment was carried out on the site of a proposed development at 87 North King Street, Dublin 7. The south of the site is occupied by a two-storey-over-basement building, which is listed as a protected structure. Three test-pits were hand-excavated in the rear garden area. They measured 1m by 1m on average and were excavated to a maximum of 1.15m.

Test-pits on the east of the site uncovered a backfilled basement. In the west of the site 0.8m of post-medieval garden soil was identified.
