Although there are several important archaeological monuments in the general neighbourhood of the development site, there were no archaeological strata recorded in three test-trenches and four trial holes.

Ridge Hall was built in c. 1830 and is typical of the regency-style villas which were constructed in the area over this period. The development site lies in what was effectively a heavily wooded walled garden and some of the trees, along with the house itself, are to be retained in the development.
