Site 5:5 was found during testing and comprised a complex of linear features filled with a dense concentration of marine mollusc shell and occasional animal bones. The features were similar in nature to those found at Site 11:1 (No. 464 below, 04E0347) at the southern end of the site. A portion of one of the large pits was excavated and slot-trenches were excavated across the linear features to establish the nature and depths of the deposits. A recent cattle carcass was found in the large pit and the shell-filled features were interpreted as modern drainage activity. The site is therefore not of archaeological significance.
