Archaeological mitigation was conducted in advance of further construction works for the Mourne conduit replacement scheme (Aquarius Project). The area for the proposed water pipeline was topsoil-stripped using a back-acting excavator fitted with a toothless bucket. The topsoil removal revealed no evidence of archaeological deposits.
