This assessment was undertaken at the site of harbour developments at Bunbeg, Co. Donegal, on 30 December 2002. The survey was augmented by a metal detection survey. Historically and archaeologically the area surrounding Bunbeg is quite rich and the area was considered to be of high archaeological potential.
The diver and metal-detection surveys did not record any archaeological material on the seabed. The absence of visible archaeological remains does not negate the possibility of there being submerged archaeological remains beneath the surface.
