The proposed development involved the demolition of a two-storey terraced house at No. 1 Hume’s Lane, Mallow, and the construction of a replacement dwelling. Pre-development testing was undertaken at the site in January 2004. Due to confined space, one test-trench was excavated mechanically through the centre of the development. No archaeological features or artefacts were recorded.
