Monitoring of Cork Main Drainage Scheme (Phase 2) Little Island Contract was undertaken on behalf of Cork County Council in and around the southern portion of Little Island. Monitoring of groundworks associated with the construction of the site compound, access road, three pump stations and their associated rising mains and gravity sewers was undertaken in the townlands of Wallingstown, Flaxfort and Courtstown. A section of the rising main was laid along the northern shore of Lough Mahon. No archaeological features or artefacts were recorded during monitoring.
