Testing was undertaken at Knockanroe, Castletownbere, Co. Cork, following an application for planning permission for the construction of apartments. Two trenches were excavated in the footprint of the proposed apartment block. In all instances the topsoil directly overlay undisturbed subsoil/bedrock. No archaeology was identified.
