Testing was undertaken as part of a planning application. The proposed house was within the zone of archaeological potential surrounding a ringfort. Two trenches were excavated. The same sequence was identified in both areas. Topsoil was removed to an average depth of 0.2m to reveal orange/brown sandy clay with pockets of shale bedrock. No features of archaeological significance were identified.
