Monitoring was carried out to fulfil a planning requirement at Grillagh, Shannonvale, Clonakilty. A small area of burning was identified beside which a post-hole was revealed. The spread measured 1.2m by 0.66m and was 0.1m deep. The post-hole was directly west of the spread and was 0.22m in diameter and 0.3m deep. No finds were revealed. A forge was previously located within 50m of the site and it is possible the spread relates to the forge.
