Test-trenching was carried out in advance of development at Eason's Avenue, Shandon, Cork, on behalf of the National Building Agency. The development area is located to the north of the zone of archaeological potential for Cork, SMR 74:122.
Four trenches were opened across the site. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during the testing.
A stone-lined well, square in plan, was recorded on the site. For safety reasons the well was backfilled.
