Three test-trenches were opened on the site of a proposed extension to a hotel at Dromoland, Newmarket-on-Fergus. The site is close to a ringfort. In one trench there was evidence for modern disturbance, as verified by the presence of steel and pieces of concrete. The other opening was featureless, whilst there was a linear feature in the third. This feature was cut from within the topsoil and appeared to be a modern drain. Nothing was found of archaeological provenance.
