The site of the proposed development is located in the townland of Kinnypottle, c. 70m north of the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval town and on its northern outskirts. The proposed development is to consist of fifteen apartments in a single block, car parking and related services. Testing was out carried in October 2004. Six trenches were opened across the site. The trenches revealed that the site had been massively disturbed during recent times, with no archaeological features or finds in evidence.
