An area of burnt-mound material was noted emerging from beneath the topsoil stack on the North-West Gas Pipeline. The material consisted of two layers in the exposed portion, both of which extended under the topsoil stack. The upper layer measured 3.5m long by 2m wide and 0.2m deep at the limit of excavation. This overlay a second layer, 2m long by 1m wide and 0.1m deep at the limit of excavation. No associated features were uncovered in the excavated area and no finds were recovered.
