Approximately half of a circular ditch with one posthole in the interior was uncovered during the topsoil-stripping on the North-West Gas Pipeline. The ditch is approximately 10m in diameter and varies in width from 0.45m at the south-east to 1m at northwest and is 0.15m deep at the south-east and 0.4m deep at the north-west. The lower fill was a light-grey/brown silty clay 0.2m thick, with occasional small stones and some charcoal flecks. This was overlain by a dark-brown, clayey loam, 0.25m thick, with occasional small stones and a considerable quantity of charcoal. No finds were recovered from either fill. A small post-hole was located within the area enclosed by the ditch. It measured 0.2m in diameter by 0.12m deep and was filled with a dark-brown, clayey loam containing a considerable quantity of charcoal but no finds.
