Monitoring was undertaken of the excavation of drains and tree pits in Hill Street and Waring Street. Archaeological deposits were only found in six drains in Hill Street. Recorded were an internal brick floor and two walls apparently relating to the 18th-century iron foundry shown on the 1791 map of Belfast. In addition, a small assemblage of residual ceramic sherds of saggars, biscuit ware and kiln furniture attributable to the 'Potthouse', active between 1697 and 1725, was also found. Although the exact site of the Potthouse has yet to be identified, it was clearly in the near locale.
